We are excited to announce 3 promotions at our firm, Jeremy, Jen & Josh. We asked them a few questions as they step into their new roles within the firm. Read more below.
Jeremy LaRochelle - Senior Accountant
Jeremy has been with the firm for almost 5 years as he goes into his role as a Senior Accountant. He graduated with his BBA from Siena Heights University and later received his MSA from Western Michigan University. He recently married Miss Jessica Bienz and they are settling into married life with their 2 dogs, Meeko and Prim.
What is your funniest BKC moment?
Probably life-sized Cardboard John haunting the hallways – often lurking behind an office door or around the corner you’d least expect. He was good for many scares before he went to recycling heaven.
What do you most look forward to with your new role?
Increased responsibility and the challenges that come with it. I know I can do more for BKC and am excited to continue growing while also benefiting the firm.
Name 3 words that describe you.
Tall, dark, handsome...kidding.
Introverted. Witty. Literal.
How do you think your colleagues would describe you?
Reserved. Nerd. “A pain in the butt” (Jen)
What did you want to be when you were 10 years old?
11 years old.
Do you have any talents or skills that people don't know about?
Unsurprisingly, I’m not very mysterious so no hidden talents (that I’m aware of). I would say most people may or may not know that I’m an amateur drummer, but it’s been a while since I played. I don’t think people truly know my passion for music, particularly high-energy rock/pop/etc. The headphones I’m almost always wearing aren’t just for blocking out the white noise of an office, but to help motivate and provide the energy to propel me through the day.
Jen Cote - Manager
Jen Cote is going on 6 years with BKC as she enters into her role as Manager. She graduated with her BBA and MSA in Accountancy from Western Michigan University.
She has 2 Pomeranians, Bruiser and Apollo. Jen is known around the firm for competitiveness and her humorous nature.
Jen enjoys golfing and adventuring outdoors when she is not working.
What's your favorite BKC moment?
My favorite BKC moment would definitely be whooping butt this year and taking home the trophy in fantasy football (destroying Jeremy in the final round and watching him cry).
What do you most look forward to with your new role?
I am excited to be more involved with firm decisions and bossing people around.
Name 3 words that describe you.
Caring, kind, adorable, and hilarious, three is not enough.
How do you think your colleagues would describe you?
They would definitely say that I am hands down the coolest person that has ever set foot in this office. Winner at fantasy football and life.
What did you want to be when you were 10 years old?
A veterinarian
Do you have any talents or skills that people don't know about?
Winning fantasy football… oh wait everyone knows that already… trash talker extraordinaire.. I am really good at creeping on people and scaring the bejesus out of them.
Josh Howells - Manager
Josh is on his fourth year with our firm as a part of our audit team. He received his BS from Olivet Nazarene College. He enjoys spending time with his wife Sarah and their dog, Jack Jack and look forward to welcoming their new baby in August.
What's your favorite BKC moment?
It’s hard to pinpoint an exact moment. For a company of our size, we really do an exceptional job of volunteering and donating our time and resources into the community. I’ll give an easy answer and say all of those moments are my favorite.
What do you most look forward to with your new role?
I’m really excited about the leadership aspects that come with being a manager.
Name 3 words that describe you.
Easy-going, humble, perfectionist
How do you think your colleagues would describe you?
Yikes that’s a scary question. They’d probably say I’m NOT a morning person.
What did you want to be when you were 10 years old?
A pilot. My wife doesn’t like flying so I think I chose the right career path.
Do you have any talents or skills that people don't know about?
I have a knack for being the first one to the breakroom when free food is provided.
